Hi, I'm Amanda.
I believe in memories, good conversation, snow days, and being in the moment.
Oh, and coffee.. I definitely believe in coffee.
I am a photographer, storyteller, animal lover and adventurer.
My story is woven together with a lot of miles on the road, and lots of paw prints.
I grew up in Connecticut and lived there for 25 years. Most of my working life was spent in the animal care industry and in the service industry. In short, I worked at night for the money, and during the day for my soul.
I picked up my very first DSLR camera about 9 years ago, and it has captivated me ever since, but I never imagined it would be anything more than a hobby. I created images for people of their pets. My heart sang each time I would produce an image that made an owner beam with happiness.
Then, my best friend introduced me to the love of my life, Kyle, and I packed up my dog and moved to New Hampshire with him. It was there, in the woods, surrounded by wild water and new experiences, that I really learned how to live in the moment and appreciate everything. Most importantly, it was there that my camera started to be an extension of myself in a whole new way. I learned how to tell stories with my images.
I was then given the opportunity to intern for a wedding photographer based in CT. This is where I fell in love with telling other people's stories and capturing their connections on the happiest day of their life.
From there, I gained the skills and confidence to start up Alpine Rose Photography in December of 2017.
I've always felt this insatiable need to create. From the time I was a little girl, you would find me parked in front of my sketchbooks with all types of pencils creating art for the people I love. Now, I get to tell people's stories through art for a living, and I can't even begin to explain how amazing that feels.
